 “ Knowledge is power “ True education moulds the students to be the worthy citizen of India. To achieve this noble goal, Our school was established in the name of Thiru. K. Kamaraj”, who brought the education to be the door-steps of the rural kids, keeping in view of three language of formula.

Brief History of our school:

Our school was established on 21st June 1982 as “ Kamaraj Nursery school” by the golden touch of Amarar. Thiru. C. Chidambara Nadar, the then President of Nadar Uravinmurai sangam, Kovilpatti at Chekkadi street, with 250 students on roll and 12 staff members from kindergarten to V STD. Our first correspondent was Thiru N. Srinivasan B.E.

Step by step Progress:

On Feb 1984, Our school was shifted to Govt.Office street in the rented building.
Recognition of Kamaraj Matriculation School was granted in 1986.
Our school was upgraded into a Hr.Sec.School in 1991-92
A well equipped physics & Chemistry laboratories were constructed on 2nd Aug 1992 and Biology lab on 10th June 1993.
The new block of Kamaraj valagam was dedicated on 15th July 2004 and Kamaraj IT park Block on 22nd April 2005.

Current Scenario:

Today our school has developed as a peak in Kovilpatti with more than 2500 students,110 members of teaching faculties and 36 Non teaching staff.

Strength

Population in our school is shooting up year by year. There are more than 3000 students studying in our school .Various teachers of different subjects were appointed. Our school is one of the best school which is sending more than 100 candidates for matriculation Exams in X and XII every year.

Our school committee is working under the Management of Nadar uravinmurai sangam president Thiru A.P.K. Palani selvam and the names of the committee members are as follow as

Because of Our Team work since 1982, Today Our School is Standing as a Pillar of Education in Kovilpatti producing excellent results in Matric Exams and Higher secondary exams. From the last 2yrs, we are producing centum results both in Matric and Hr.Sec. Exams.

We are proud to say that our school students S.Raja and U.Shyla Secured 1048/1100 and 1045/1100 in the Matric Exam held in April 2003 and 2006 and stood first in Tuticorin District.

Our students have created the golden records in state level by getting State first in 1993-94 and State second in 1994-95 by getting 188/200 marks in both.

Principal:

Mrs. A.Suganthy B.Sc., M.A., M.Ed., has been working in the institution since June 1982. She joined in the school as a teacher. She worked with dedication and devotion. So she was promoted to the post of vice principal in June 1986. Then she was promoted at elevated to the post of principal at Head of the institution in January 2001 due to her sincerity and hard work.

She is working with missionary zeal at zest for the welfare of the students with the aim of imparting quality for education. She received the following awards,
Mother Teresa award in 2000 August from Elakkiya Ula & ICE
Rashtra Pradeepa award in 2004 from Integrated Council in Socio Economic progress – New delhi.
Dr.Radha Krishnan award in 2005 from State Government of Tamil nadu
Vidya seva Rathna award in 2008 from Bharath Yuvaskar - Madurai
Best Teacher award 2009 from Lions Club Kovilpatti temple city.
